Statement on Request to Recount

I am writing to inform our community that I intend to request a recount of the votes in Tuesday’s Ward 5 City Council election.

The recent election in Ward 5 generated significant interest and participation, and it was inspiring to see so many voters get involved. In light of the close margin and concerns raised by a discrepancy in the numbers on the unofficial count, I believe it is essential to recount the votes.

I would also like to express my deep appreciation to all the dedicated officials who worked tirelessly to conduct the election. It has been an honor to run for City Council and to get to know the people of Ward 5. I look forward to the final results of the recount to ensure all voices are heard. When we work together to uphold the public trust, we make our city government stronger.
